Jewelry Making as a Healing Art!

Hello!

I just read this beautiful article about a woman who single handedly makes jewelry!  Yep, she actually only has the use of one hand due to a car crash that left her with “incomplete spinal cord damage”.  Her name is Terri Jacoby, and she is such an inspiration to us all.  You can read her full story by clicking the following:

I don’t mean to wax philosophical, but it really does seem that sometimes what hurts the most makes us stronger, or at least presents new avenues for creativity and healing that we didn’t know were possible.

Thanks for listening, and I hope you are all happy and healthy!

Swarovski Rocks!!!

September 14th, 2006

Hello!
Okay, all of you have been listening to me for several years now expounding upon the virtues of Swarovski crystal.  I just did a little reading at www.swarovski.com , and now I have an even greater appreciation for the company and its products.

I think the most obvious visual fact that separates Swarovski beads from other crystal beads is that Swarovski crystal is cut with exacting precision.  All of the facet points match up perfectly.  This increases the fire and brilliance.  Some of the other crystals out there are lovely, to be sure, but they are no match in sparkle, which is a very important thing!!

Way back in 1892, Daniel Swarovski registered a patent for a fabulous crystal cutting machine that set the standard for perfection and efficiency.

In 1895, the Swarovski Company was born.
In the true spirit of industry, Swarovski understood about diversification.  With amazing foresight, the company started creating glass reflectors for roads and road signs in 1937!  Now that is something we can all appreciate!

1976 brought us Swarovski’s first crystal animal figurine (who doesn’t want one of those?) and in 1995 the company opened a theme park in Innsbruck to celebrate its 100th anniversary!

So, now you know a little more about the company and why it is so cool!

Thanks for reading!!
